Manual Turner

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manual Turner to join an established engineering team for our client based in Eastbourne.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality, precision components and is confident working from technical drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Operating manual lathes to produce precision components
Setting and operating machinery safely and efficiently
Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings
Producing components to required specifications and tolerances
Selecting appropriate tools and materials for each job
Measuring and inspecting finished components to ensure quality
Carrying out general maintenance and housekeeping of machinery and the work area
Working to production deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy
Following all relevant Health & Safety procedures 

Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience as a Manual Turner or in a similar machining role
Strong experience operating manual lathes
Ability to read and work from technical engineering drawings
Good understanding of machining processes, tooling and materials
Experience producing components to tight tolerances
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
