Export Operator – Ocean or Road Freight

Location: Basildon, Essex
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

We are recruiting an experienced Export Operator to join a successful and growing freight-forwarding business based in Basildon.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with start-to-finish export experience across either Ocean Freight or Road Freight. You will manage export shipments throughout the full process while providing a reliable and professional service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

Manage export shipments from booking through to final delivery

*

Coordinate Ocean or European Road Freight movements

*

Prepare quotations and secure competitive carrier or haulier rates

*

Make bookings with shipping lines, carriers, hauliers and overseas agents

*

Complete and check all relevant export documentation

*

Provide customs clearance instructions where required

*

Monitor shipments and provide customers with regular updates

*

Liaise with customers, suppliers, agents and internal departments

*

Resolve operational issues quickly and professionally

*

Ensure files are completed accurately and invoiced correctly

*

Maintain a high standard of customer service throughout the shipment process

Previous experience in an Export Operator or Export Coordinator position

*

Strong start-to-finish export experience across Ocean or Road Freight

*

Good understanding of export documentation and procedures
