How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract Type: Full-Time
    Salary: £95-£130 per day DOE

Supply Desk is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Watford from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teaching professional who is committed to supporting pupils to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment where every child feels valued, confident, and motivated to learn.

Working closely with teachers and the wider school team, you will support high-quality teaching and learning across the primary phase, deliver planned lessons and learning activities, and provide targeted support to individuals and groups of pupils. The school is looking for an HLTA who can build strong relationships with pupils and staff, promote positive behaviour, and contribute to the academic, social, and emotional development of all learners.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or HLTA to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking primary school community.

    The Role

Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective learning experiences across the primary curriculum.
Lead and deliver planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher or as directed by the school.
Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups of pupils, helping them to overcome barriers to learning.
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports the needs of all pupils.
Monitor and contribute to the assessment of pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers where appropriate.
Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations for pupil engagement and achievement.
Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, teachers, parents, carers, and colleagues.
Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team to support the progress and wellbeing of all pupils.
Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities and school events.
Uphold high standards of safeguarding, behaviour, and pupil wellbeing.

    The Ideal Candidate

Holds an appropriate HLTA qualification or has significant experience working at a higher level within a primary school setting.
Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA within a UK primary school.
Has experience supporting teaching and learning across the primary curriculum.
Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
Is confident delivering lessons and activities independently when required.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is passionate about helping children achieve their academic, social, and emotional potential.
Promotes inclusive teaching practices and understands how to support pupils with a range of learning needs.
Has a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Is reliable, adaptable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a school team.

    What We Offer

    • Competitive weekly pay in line with the MPS/UPS pay scale.
    • Dedicated support from experienced local education consultants.
    • Access to high-quality CPD and professional development opportunities.
    • Comprehensive safeguarding training.
    • Opportunities to work within supportive and well-resourced schools.
    • Weekly pay with a straightforward payroll process.
    • Refer a Friend Scheme – earn £100 for every successful referral who completes five or more shifts.
