The Role
As a Senior Cable Design Engineer, you'll be involved in the design and delivery of major power and infrastructure projects, taking responsibility for cable design activities from concept through to detailed design and delivery.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, providing technical input and supporting the delivery of complex projects for major clients.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver HV/MV cable design packages.
Undertake cable sizing, rating and technical calculations.
Develop cable routes, layouts, schedules and design documentation.
Produce and review technical specifications and drawings.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
Liaise with clients, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
Support design reviews and resolve technical queries.
Ensure designs meet relevant standards, specifications and project requirements.
Contribute to the successful delivery of major energy and infrastructure projects.
What They're Looking For
Strong experience in HV/MV cable design.
Background within the power, energy, utilities or infrastructure sector.
Experience working on major substation or transmission projects.
Knowledge of cable sizing, installation, routing and associated calculations.
Understanding of relevant British and international standards.
Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Strong communication and technical problem-solving skills.
Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers would be advantageous.

Salary description
£70000.00 - £130000.00 per year
