SEN Teacher – Autism ARP
Education First is recruiting an experienced SEN Teacher to join a primary school in Barking & Dagenham, working within the school's Autism ARP (Additionally Resourced Provision).
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with strong SEN experience who is passionate about supporting pupils with autism and additional needs.
The successful candidate will need experience working with KS1 and/or KS2 pupils and will be expected to take on full class teacher responsibilities within the ARP.
The Role
As an SEN Teacher within the Autism ARP, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons appropriate to pupils' individual needs
*
Take full responsibility for the class and day-to-day teaching
*
Teach pupils across KS1 and KS2
*
Support pupils with Autism / ASC and associated additional needs
*
Differentiate the curriculum to meet individual learning needs
*
Create a structured, safe and inclusive learning environment
*
Develop positive relationships with pupils and promote independence
*
Manage behaviour using appropriate and consistent strategies
*
Monitor, assess and record pupil progress
*
Work closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff
*
Work collaboratively with the SENCO and wider school team
What We're Looking For
The school is looking for a teacher who has:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
*
Essential experience working with pupils with SEN
*
Experience working with KS1 and KS2 pupils
*
Experience supporting pupils with Autism / ASC
*
Experience working within an ARP, specialist provision or SEN setting is desirable
*
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
*
The ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons
*
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
*
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
*
A strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
