We are looking for up to two exceptional recent graduates to join our Graduate PBS Partner Scheme - a structured development pathway for people who want to build a career in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and behaviour analysis within specialist adult social care.
This is an opportunity to combine meaningful hands-on experience with structured professional development, mentoring and analytical work. From the outset, you will work directly with adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs while developing your skills across Positive Behaviour Support, practice leadership, data analysis, reporting and service improvement.
Successfully complete your first year and demonstrate the required potential, and we will fund your place on the University of Kent part-time distance MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support. Alongside your MSc, you will begin supervised development against the relevant UK-SBA competencies, supporting your longer-term progression towards future UKBA (cert) certification and Behaviour Analyst opportunities.
We believe strong PBS practitioners need to understand both the reality of day-to-day support and how evidence and data can be used to improve people's lives.
As a Graduate PBS Partner, your role will therefore bring together three areas:
Direct Support - You will work as part of the support team alongside the individuals we support. Direct support remains a core part of the role throughout the programme, giving you genuine insight into people's needs, environments and everyday experiences.
PBS Practice Leadership - You will help colleagues deliver high-quality and consistent Positive Behaviour Support in practice. This will include modelling good support, reinforcing proactive and person centred approaches, supporting the implementation of PBS Plans and Continuums, and contributing to reflective practice.
PBS Data and Analysis - You will spend dedicated time working within our PBS Data Partner function, helping turn information into meaningful insight for individuals, teams and managers. This may include analysing PBS and service data, identifying patterns and changes, preparing reports and review information, supporting outcome monitoring and restrictive practice reduction, and contributing to PBS audits and wider service improvement.
Year 1
Your first year will provide a structured foundation for your future career. The PBS Director will be your named mentor, with a dedicated development meeting every month. You will also have access to internal PBS learning and selected external development opportunities, which may include professional conferences, speaker programmes and relevant online events. Your development will be reviewed across areas including:
• Direct support and practice leadership;
• PBS knowledge;
• Analytical and data skills;
• Communication and professionalism;
• Your ability to learn through feedback, mentoring and supervision.
Progression to the funded MSc pathway is subject to successful completion of Year 1 and demonstrating the required level of development and potential.
Years 2 and 3
Following successful completion of your first year, we will fund your place on the University of Kent MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support, studied part-time by distance learning alongside your role. You will also begin supervised development against the relevant UK-SBA competencies.
Throughout the programme, you will continue to work directly with the individuals we support while your knowledge, responsibility and professional competence develop. The longer-term pathway offers the potential to progress into Senior PBS Partner and Behaviour Analyst roles, subject to successful development, qualifications, competence and organisational requirements.
Who we are looking for
The scheme is aimed at people who have graduated within the last 24 months. You will normally have:
• A First or 2:1 degree, ideally in Psychology, Positive Behaviour Support, Behavioural Science or a related subject;
• A genuine interest in learning disabilities, autism and Positive Behaviour Support;
• Strong analytical, written and communication skills;
• The ability to build positive relationships;
• Curiosity, professionalism and a willingness to learn; and
• A genuine commitment to working directly with the individuals we support.
Previous experience in social care, direct support, learning disabilities or autism - through employment, placements or volunteering - would be particularly valuable.

With a maximum of two places available, this is a small and selective development programme for graduates with the potential and commitment to build a long-term career in PBS.
