How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: Llansamlet, Swansea | Full-time | Hands-on operational role | Competitive salary & benefits

Curveball is a Swansea-based multi-channel business spanning wholesale, e-commerce/retail, marketplaces, collectables and games publishing. We are looking for a hands-on Stock Controller to work alongside an existing Stock Controller and protect one of our most important assets: inventory. This is not simply stock-counting or desk administration: move between data and the warehouse floor, investigate discrepancies to root cause and improve the controls that keep stock accurate.

    The role

Take ownership of stock and location accuracy across assigned warehouse areas and relevant external storage locations, working closely with the other Stock Controller to provide clear ownership and cross-cover.

Operate risk-based rolling cycle counts, physical checks and location audits, prioritising higher-value, higher-risk and recurring problem areas.

Investigate physical-to-system discrepancies to root cause, maintain clear evidence and ensure corrective actions are completed rather than repeatedly adjusting symptoms away.

Maintain robust control of damaged, quarantined, unidentified, missing and other exception stock and actively manage unresolved issues and ageing.

Maintain clear governance and audit trail around stock adjustments, transfers, rework and other stock-impacting transactions.

Audit stock-impacting warehouse processes and work with operational teams to prevent recurrence of errors.

Use ERP/WMS data, Excel and inventory KPIs to analyse high SKU volumes, identify material exceptions/trends and communicate risks clearly to Warehouse Operations and Finance.

    About you

Stock-control, inventory or warehouse experience with strong accuracy and follow-through; high-SKU experience is advantageous.

A hands-on approach: comfortable analysing data and then physically verifying stock, locations and process on the warehouse floor.

Strong attention to detail, integrity and an investigative mindset.

Confidence using ERP/WMS and Excel to filter, sort, reconcile and explain large inventory data sets. Business Central/HelmWMS experience is advantageous.

Self-motivated, proactive and curious: able to spot a risk, investigate it and bring forward a solution without waiting for detailed instruction.

Clear communication and the confidence to challenge appropriately when process or control standards are not being met.

    Why join Curveball

You will have real ownership of inventory integrity rather than simply processing counts and adjustments. The role works across the warehouse and with Finance, and there is genuine scope to improve controls, systems and ways of working. We are looking for someone who wants to make stock accuracy measurably better.

    How to apply

Apply through LinkedIn using the Apply button. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.

    Closing date: 5.00pm Monday 28 September 2026.

We may close the vacancy earlier if we receive sufficient suitable applications.

Package: Competitive salary + annual bonus + 33 days' leave (including bank holidays and birthday leave) + Medicash + Death in Service + workplace pension.
