This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-focused planning professional to play a key role in the successful delivery of a major construction and infrastructure project. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes, working closely with project managers, engineers, site teams, subcontractors and other key stakeholders.
You will support the project team by providing accurate planning information, identifying potential programme risks and delays, monitoring progress and ensuring that project activities remain aligned with agreed milestones and delivery requirements.
This role would suit an experienced Planner with a background in construction, engineering, infrastructure or a similar project environment who is confident working with multiple stakeholders and managing detailed project programmes.
Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and update detailed project programmes in line with project requirements.

Work closely with project management, engineering and site teams to establish realistic and achievable programmes.

Monitor project progress against agreed programmes, milestones and key deliverables.

Collect and analyse progress information from site teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders.

Identify programme risks, delays and potential areas of concern and communicate these to the wider project team.
*
Support the development of recovery programmes and mitigation strategies where required.

Provide regular programme updates and progress reports to project management and senior stakeholders.
*
Track critical activities, interfaces, dependencies and key project milestones.
*
Ensure programme changes are accurately recorded and communicated.
*
Work collaboratively with commercial, engineering, procurement and construction teams to ensure programme alignment.

Attend project planning and progress meetings and provide relevant programme information.
*
Support the preparation of project reports and presentations.
*
Assist with forecasting project completion dates and identifying potential impacts on delivery.

Monitor subcontractor programmes and progress against agreed requirements.
*
Ensure planning information is accurate, current and readily available to project stakeholders.

Contribute to continuous improvement of project planning processes and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
*
Previous experience working as a Planner within construction, engineering, infrastructure or a similar project environment.
*
Strong understanding of project planning, programming and programme controls.
*
Experience working on large-scale or complex projects would be advantageous.
*
Strong knowledge of project planning principles, including sequencing, dependencies, critical paths and programme monitoring.
*
Experience using recognised planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
*
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
*
Confident communicating programme information to project teams and senior stakeholders.
*
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*
Experience monitoring subcontractor programmes and progress would be beneficial.
*
Commercial awareness and an understanding of how programme performance can impact project delivery.
*
Ability to identify potential risks and provide clear, practical programme information to support decision-making.
*
A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge programme issues when required.

£85000.00 - £90000.00 per year
