Hybrid – Waltham Abbey (2–3 days in the office)

£60,000 – £75,000 Basic + Bonus + 25 Days Holiday + Virtual GP + Life Insurance + Pension + Package

Are you an experienced Estimator looking for the opportunity to build something of your own? This is a critical first hire, with the opportunity to establish, develop and ultimately help shape an estimating function from the ground up.

This is an opportunity to join an established electrical compliance and property safety solutions provider, operating extensively across the social housing market. Estimating has historically been supported by senior leadership and external resource, but continued growth and investment in work winning has created the need to bring this capability in-house.

Rather than simply producing estimates, you'll have the opportunity to put your own stamp on how estimating is done, working closely with senior leadership and the wider work-winning team to build a commercially robust function capable of supporting the continued growth of the business.

Your Duties:

* Review tender documentation, specifications, schedules of work and client requirements to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates

* Prepare estimates across electrical compliance, remedial works, planned and reactive maintenance and social housing contracts

* Quantify labour, materials, plant, subcontractor and overhead costs, obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations

* Develop detailed pricing schedules, cost models and commercial tender responses, including Schedule of Rates (SOR) pricing

* Work collaboratively with Bid Managers, Bid Writers and operational teams to develop commercially competitive tender submissions

* Assess commercial and contractual risks, challenge assumptions and identify opportunities or value engineering and cost efficiencies

* Help establish and continuously develop the estimating processes, tools, cost libraries and best practice required to build a successful in-house estimating function

Experience Required:

* Previous experience working as an Estimator – Bid, Electrical, Commercial or similar

* Experience preparing cost estimates and pricing for tenders within electrical, compliance, construction, building services or planned/reactive maintenance environments

* Strong commercial and numerical ability, with experience developing detailed pricing schedules and cost models

* Knowledge of Schedule of Rates (SOR) pricing, including NHF or similar

* Experience within social housing, public sector, electrical compliance or property maintenance would be advantageous
