How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Light Vehicle Technician

    Up to £45k + Benefits | Burton upon Trent | Full-Time | Permanent

    Keeping commercial vehicles moving. Delivering quality. Driving reliability.

    We're looking for an experienced Light Vehicle Technician to join a busy and professional workshop team in Burton upon Trent.

    Working on a range of vans and commercial vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes, you'll carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs to the highest standards, helping to keep customers safely on the road.

    What you'll be doing:

    *

    Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on commercial vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes

    *

    Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults

    *

    Completing repairs to engines, transmissions, braking, steering and suspension systems

    *

    Using manufacturer and aftermarket diagnostic equipment to identify faults

    *

    Carrying out vehicle inspections and preparing vehicles for MOT

    *

    Completing job cards and workshop documentation accurately

    *

    Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment

    *

    Ensuring all work is completed in line with manufacturer and health & safety standards

    *

    Supporting colleagues to ensure workshop efficiency and excellent customer service

    What we need:

    *

    Previous experience as a Commercial Vehicle Technician, LCV Technician or Vehicle Technician

    *

    Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills

    *

    Experience working on vans and commercial vehicles

    *

    Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship

    *

    Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively

    *

    Full UK driving licence

    Desirable skills:

    *

    NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

    *

    Experience working on vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes

    *

    Diagnostic and fault-finding experience using modern diagnostic equipment

    *

    MOT Tester qualification (Class 4 and/or 7)

    *

    Hybrid and EV awareness or training

    *

    Familiarity with dealer management or workshop systems
