How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Groundworks Foreman

    We are currently looking for an experienced Groundworks Foreman to join our team on a busy construction project.

    The successful candidate will have a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering, with proven experience supervising a team and delivering projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Supervise and coordinate groundwork teams on site.

    *

    Manage day-to-day site activities and allocate labour effectively.

    *

    Oversee excavation, drainage, foundations, concrete, kerbing, ducting and associated groundworks.

    *

    Read and work from drawings, specifications and site plans.

    *

    Coordinate plant, materials and subcontractors.

    *

    Ensure works are completed on programme and to the required quality standards.

    *

    Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers and other site personnel.

    *

    Carry out regular quality and safety checks.

    *

    Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with RAMS and site procedures.

    *

    Maintain a safe, tidy and productive working environment.

    *

    Complete daily records and report progress, issues and requirements to site management.

    Requirements

    *

    Previous experience as a Groundworks Foreman / Working Foreman.

    *

    Strong knowledge of groundworks and civil engineering operations.

    *

    Experience supervising and leading a site team.

    *

    Ability to read and understand construction drawings.

    *

    Good communication and organisational skills.

    *

    Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.

    *

    Relevant CPCS/NPORS or other plant tickets would be advantageous.

    *

    CSCS qualification required.

    *

    SSSTS/SMSTS would be advantageous.

    *

    Full UK driving licence preferred.
