How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Teaching Assistants Needed – Ipswich

Teach is currently recruiting enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistants to work across mainstream and SEND schools in Ipswich and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for caring, committed and adaptable Teaching Assistants who are passionate about supporting children and young people with their learning, development and wellbeing. We have opportunities available across a range of school settings, including mainstream primary and secondary schools, specialist provisions and SEND environments.

As a Teaching Assistant, you may support pupils on an individual basis, work with small groups or provide support across the classroom. Depending on the setting and the needs of the pupils, responsibilities may include supporting learning activities, encouraging positive behaviour, assisting with classroom routines and providing appropriate support to pupils with additional needs.

Experience of working with children or young people with SEND is welcomed, particularly experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, communication and interaction needs or complex learning needs. However, we also welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience who are looking to develop their career within education.

We are looking for candidates who are reliable, patient and professional, with a genuine commitment to helping pupils achieve their potential. You should be confident working as part of a wider school team and able to adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs.

Previous experience within a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential for all positions. Relevant experience in care, support work, youth work or other roles involving children and young people may also be considered.

Teach is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All applicants will be subject to appropriate safeguarding checks and screening in accordance with current legislation and relevant guidance.

We offer competitive rates of pay, flexible working opportunities and access to a range of assignments across Ipswich and the surrounding areas, including both mainstream and SEND settings.

If you are a Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in Ipswich, we would be pleased to hear from you.
