How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Graduate - Teaching Assistant - SEN Schools in Canterbury and Surrounding Areas
    Full-time - £93 per day - ASAP start - Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm

    Are you a graduate with an SEN-related degree looking to gain valuable, hands-on experience working in specialist schools?

    Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and looking to build a career within SEN, education, psychology, therapy, social care, or child development?

    Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking SEN Graduates to work as Teaching Assistants across SEN schools in Canterbury and the surrounding areas.

    This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who have studied Special Educational Needs, Inclusive Education, Education Studies, Childhood Studies, Child Development, Learning Support, or a related subject and want to put their knowledge into practice within a school environment.

    The Role

    Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis with a range of additional needs.
    Working with pupils with autism spectrum condition (ASC), severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), complex needs, communication difficulties, and sensory impairments.
    Supporting pupils with their learning, communication, independence, social development, and life skills.
    Helping deliver personalised learning programmes in line with individual pupils' EHCPs.
    Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and providing consistent emotional and behavioural support.
    Using a calm, patient, and nurturing approach to support pupils with a range of complex needs.
    Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure pupils receive appropriate and consistent support.
    Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.
    Supporting with personal care where required, always maintaining dignity, respect, and safeguarding.
    Using your degree knowledge and understanding of SEN to support pupils effectively within the classroom.
    Taking an active role in the classroom and contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment.

    Who We're Looking For

    A degree in SEN or a related subject.
    A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with additional needs.
    Patience, empathy, resilience, and a proactive attitude.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
    A willingness to support with personal care and medical needs where required.
    The right to work in the UK.
    An enhanced DBS (child-only) on the update service, or willingness to obtain a new one. A new DBS costs £62, and we will reimburse the £62 once you complete 20 days of work with us.
    If you have been out of the UK in the last 5 years for 6 months or more, you will also need to obtain an overseas police check.
