This role would suit a teacher who enjoys developing children's independence, encouraging curiosity and delivering lessons that allow pupils to apply their knowledge in meaningful ways. You will become an important part of the school's teaching team and will be expected to contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
The successful applicant will have responsibility for the day-to-day teaching of a Year 4 class. You will plan effectively, deliver well-structured lessons and use ongoing assessment to identify areas where pupils need further challenge or support.
A positive approach to behaviour management is essential. The school values teachers who establish clear expectations while building respectful relationships with children.
Your responsibilities will include:
Taking full teaching responsibility for a Year 4 class
Preparing and delivering high-quality lessons
Differentiating work to meet a range of abilities
Assessing learning and tracking pupil progress
Supporting children to become increasingly independent learners
Maintaining a calm and purposeful classroom
Contributing to planning and wider school activities
Working effectively with teaching assistants and other members of staffThe ideal candidate will be confident teaching across the KS2 curriculum and able to adapt their approach according to the needs of the class.
You will need:
QTS or recognised UK teaching qualification
Primary teaching experience
Recent KS2 experience
Strong planning and organisational skills
Effective behaviour management
A commitment to inclusive education
