Academics are currently recruiting for an experienced Nursery Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school in the Llanrumney area of Cardiff. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone who has experience working with young children and is confident supporting pupils with their everyday care and development.
The role is full-time, 5 days a week, with a long-term commitment required.
The Role
As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting children within a nursery/early years classroom
Helping children develop their social, emotional and educational skills
Supporting learning through play, activities and structured tasks
Assisting with daily classroom routines
Supporting children with personal care, toileting and toilet training
Helping children develop independence with personal hygiene
Supporting children's communication and language development
Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction
Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
Creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment
Following safeguarding and school policies at all times
We're Looking For
Previous experience working with children - essential
Early Years/Nursery experience is highly desirable
Comfortable supporting children with personal care and toileting
Experience supporting toilet training would be advantageous
A caring, patient and nurturing approach
Someone who is enthusiastic about working with young children
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Reliable and committed to a long-term position
Availability to work 5 days a week
