How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Team Leader Residential Childcare Worker
    Blackpool or Durham
    Starting from £15.00 per hour + £53 per sleep-in

    We are currently recruiting on behalf of a residential childcare provider for an experienced Team Leader Residential Childcare Worker to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

    The Role

    As a Team Leader, you will support the management team while leading shifts and providing high-quality care to children and young people within the home.

    You'll help create a positive, structured and supportive environment that encourages young people to achieve their full potential.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and support residential care staff during shifts.
    Act as a positive role model for both colleagues and young people.
    Support children and young people with their emotional, social and practical development.
    Encourage attendance and engagement with education and activities.
    Promote independence and life skills development.
    Maintain accurate records, reports and care documentation.
    Build positive relationships with families and external professionals.
    Ensure safeguarding and welfare remain a priority at all times.
    Participate in activities, outings and programmes alongside young people.
    Contribute to a safe, welcoming and homely environment.
    What We're Looking For

    Essential

    Experience within residential childcare or a similar setting.
    Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards).
    Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
    A caring, resilient and child-centred approach.
    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    Commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for young people.
    Desirable

    Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
    Understanding of Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
