How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    When quality matters at every stage, the work you do on the production floor makes a genuine difference to the finished product. As a General Operative, you’ll help prepare, process and pack premium beef products while maintaining the standards expected across a busy food production environment.

    You’ll have a choice of two weekday shift patterns (6:00am–4:00pm OR 10:00am–7:00pm), full PPE and equipment provided, and the opportunity to secure a permanent position while developing your skills through ongoing training.

    Your responsibilities as General Operative

    Prepare, trim, process and pack premium beef products to required standards
    Carry out visual quality checks against weight requirements and customer specifications
    Follow food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and biosecurity procedures
    Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout production areas
    Move, load, unload and store raw materials and finished products safely
    Support production, warehouse and dispatch activities to keep operations running efficiently
    What we’re looking for in a General Operative

    Previous food manufacturing, warehousing, production or similar experience would be beneficial, although full training is provided
    Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, chilled food production environment
    Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
    Understanding of workplace hygiene, food safety or health and safety procedures would be advantageous
    Working hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am–4:00pm OR 10:00am–7:00pm
