How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    As a Wholesale Merchandiser in the transport and distribution industry, you'll play a key role in managing stock levels, coordinating orders, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods to retail partners. Your day-to-day work will help streamline operations and maintain strong relationships with clients.

    A fantastic opportunity for a Wholesale Merchandiser to join a leading product led variety business in the Leeds / Pugsley area. The business sells direct to consumers as well as to large Ecommerce & high street retailers. Due to growth the business is seeking someone to join their Product team.

    Description

    Stock & Purchasing Management

    Monitor UK and US stock levels, sales performance and stock cover, recommending repeat orders and warehouse transfers.
    Complete regular order reviews, increasing monitoring during peak trading periods.
    Monitor product margins and landed costs as supplier, freight and duty costs change.
    Review product performance and support decisions around reordering and discontinued lines.
    Maintain accurate product, pricing, costing, barcode and stock information.
    Create and manage purchase orders with UK and overseas suppliers from placement through to delivery.
    Negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQs and following production lead times to achieve strong commercial outcomes.
    Coordinate product testing, factory audits and supplier QC reports.
    Build strong supplier relationships and proactively resolve production, quality or delivery issues.Imports & Logistics

    Manage international shipments and warehouse transfers from booking through to final delivery.
    Obtain and compare freight quotations for LCL, spot and transfer shipments.
    Coordinate combined shipments to maximise container space and shipping efficiency.
    Collate and check commercial invoices, packing lists and shipping documentation.
    Monitor shipments, manage delays and coordinate deliveries with freight forwarders.
    Check final customs documentation, duties and associated import costs.Profile

    A successful Wholesale Merchandiser should have:

    Experience in wholesale or retail merchandising.
    Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
    An understanding of stock management and distribution processes.
    Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
