How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

As Student Events and Engagement Officer, you will play an important role in supporting student life at BIMM University. Working as part of the Student Events and Engagement team, you will help deliver a varied programme of events, activities and initiatives that encourage participation, connection and a sense of belonging across the student community.

Combining event coordination, administration, communications and student engagement, you'll work closely with colleagues across the University to ensure events run smoothly, students feel informed and involved, and opportunities for participation are accessible and well promoted.

    What You'll Do:

Support the planning, coordination and delivery of a campus programme of student-facing events and engagement activities.
Assist with key institutional events, including Welcome activities, student showcases, community initiatives and other campus-wide events.
Coordinate event logistics, including venue bookings, registrations, scheduling, equipment requirements and communications with contributors and guests.
Provide on-the-day support for events, helping to ensure activities run safely, effectively and provide a positive student experience.
Maintain accurate records relating to events, attendance, resources and feedback.
Support the completion of administrative tasks, reporting and service monitoring activity.
Assist with event promotion through a range of communication channels, including digital platforms and social media.
Help maintain local webpages and online content, ensuring students can easily access information about opportunities and activities.
Support the day-to-day management of local social media channels, sharing approved content and promoting events and engagement opportunities.
Work with student representatives, ambassadors and focus groups to support student voice and participation initiatives.
Gather and collate student feedback to help inform future activity and improvements.
Build effective working relationships with academic teams, Creative Futures colleagues, student groups and wider professional services teams.

    What You'll Bring:

Experience in an administrative, events, engagement or customer-facing role.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Confidence working in busy environments and supporting live events and activities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with a wide range of students and colleagues.
Good administrative skills and strong attention to detail.
Confidence using standard office systems and digital tools.
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while managing your own workload effectively.
A flexible approach, including a willingness to support occasional evening or out-of-hours events.

We encourage early applications, as we may close the advert ahead of the stated deadline if we receive a high volume of interest.
