How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mechanical Workshop Engineer – Machine Tooling

    Rugby

    Monday – Thursday 8 – 5pm/Friday 8 – 2pm

    £40k (Flexible for right candidate) + £5k Bonus + 10% Matched Pension + Private Healthcare + 25 days holiday + stats + 3 day shutdown over Christmas (in addition to allowance)

    The company

    Our client is well over a decade old and are a very well-respected manufacturer of precision industrial tools. From their UK site they provide sales, spares and service to clients across the UK and Ireland and are now looking to develop their service offerings by employing a skilled Mechanical Workshop Engineer to provide support across their product range

    The Role

    Working predominantly from their Rugby site, the successful Mechanical Workshop Engineer will be responsible for servicing tooling and ancillary products, providing technical information and advice and providing quotations to clients. Occasional travel to client sites for installation/servicing will form part of the role though this is estimated to be less than 10% of the time.

    Day to day responsibilities will involve;

    Servicing, stripping down, refitting and repairing various precision tools and their ancillary including chucks, vises, cylinders and various other clamping systems
    Working to GA drawings, explosion drawings and component drawings
    Utilising CAD drawings
    Working predominantly with hydraulic systems, occasionally pneumatics
    Speaking with customers to provide advice and support where necessary
    The Candidate

    To be successful in your application for Mechanical Workshop Engineer, you will have;

    Previous experience working with machine tooling
    A good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
    A background in providing tooling support with the ability to strip, fit and install tooling
    Recognised NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
