How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Health and Safety Advisor – £50,000-£57,000 + Car / Allowance + Package

    Kent & Sussex | Infrastructure | Hybrid

Do you want a Health and Safety role where you can genuinely influence how major infrastructure projects are planned and delivered?

Principal People are working with a leading Tier 1 infrastructure contractor to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor supporting a major framework across Kent and Sussex.

With a significant pipeline of secured work across projects of varying scale, including major schemes valued at £70m+, this is an opportunity to join an established H&S team and work closely with operational teams throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and pre-construction through to delivery.

They are looking for someone with strong Tier 1 construction or infrastructure experience who can take a practical, forward-thinking approach and bring a wider project understanding rather than focusing purely on compliance.

    What’s in it for you?

    Salary up to £57,000
    Company Car / Car Allowance
    Competitive Pension Scheme
    Private Medical options
    CPD, Development & Progression Support
Hybrid working with 1 day per week from home
    Long-term secured infrastructure work
    What you will be doing:

Providing practical HS&E support across projects throughout Kent and Sussex.
Working closely with operational teams to identify risk and improve performance.
Supporting projects through planning, pre-construction, mobilisation and delivery.
Conducting site inspections, audits and HS&E reviews.
Reviewing RAMS, Construction Phase Plans and project documentation.
Supporting incident investigations and continuous improvement.
Building strong relationships with operational teams, clients and supply-chain partners.
    What they are looking for:

NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate, or equivalent.
Experience within a Tier 1 contractor environment is strongly preferred.
Background within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, highways or similar.
The role will predominantly cover projects across Kent and parts of Sussex, with four days typically spent on site and one day working from home.

If you are an experienced Health and Safety professional looking to join a leading infrastructure contractor with an excellent long-term pipeline of work, apply today
