Apex Educ8 are looking for a SEN Teaching/Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Sutton, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, nurturing and relationship-focused, with a genuine interest in helping young people develop their confidence, communication, independence and life skills.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with SEN
*
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and help them feel safe and supported
*
Support pupils with communication, engagement, emotional regulation and independence
*
Help pupils participate in meaningful classroom and practical activities
*
Adapt your approach to suit individual learning and developmental needs
*
Encourage pupils to develop confidence and life skills
*
Work closely with teachers and other professionals to support individual pupils
*
Promote a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment
*
Support pupils both within the classroom and across the wider school setting
Requirements
*
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable
*
A patient, calm and nurturing approach
*
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
*
Ability to recognise and respond to individual needs
*
A flexible approach and willingness to learn
*
Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
*
Relevant education, childcare, SEN or support experience would be advantageous
