Graduate Civil Engineer

The Role

At @one Alliance, we bring together eight leading organisations to deliver Anglian Water’s capital investment programme across the East of England. Together, we’re delivering projects to help protect and improve one of the UK’s most important resources - water.

As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you’ll be part of this exciting programme from the start, gaining hands-on experience of Civil Engineering across major infrastructure projects.

You’ll work alongside experienced Engineering professionals building your knowledge, developing your skills and working towards a successful career in Civil Engineering.

You’ll be supported throughout your development, with opportunities to build your technical knowledge, gain professional experience and work towards your longer-term career goals.

We welcome applications from candidates outside the region who are willing and able to relocate or travel to Peterborough and the East Anglia Region.

As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to attend a number of assessment centres taking place on the following dates: 20th November, 11th December, 6th January, 8th January, 11th January, 15th January, and 18th January.

Should you be successful in your application, please ensure that you are available to attend all these dates, as participation in the assessment centres forms an essential part of the selection process.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the design and construction of water treatment works, pipelines, pumping stations, and flood defences
Undertake site visits, inspections, and surveys to support project development
Prepare drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports under the guidance of senior engineers
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and environmental engineers
Support project management and stakeholder engagement across various stages of delivery
Ensure all work aligns with health, safety, and environmental standards

About you

Essential 

A 2:2 degree or above in BEng or MEng/MSc in Civil or Structural engineering
Good knowledge and experience of undertaking structural calculations for various concrete structures not limited to slabs, beams, liquid retaining structures, etc using the British Standard Codes, Eurocodes, and other acceptable standards not limited to Ciria Guidance, BRE, etc
Demonstrable experience within your degree in undertaking design of various civil engineering structures within the Water and Wastewater Industry and exhibit high competency in the use of MS office suite and relevant engineering software packages not limited to TEDDS by Tecla, Staad Pro, AutoCAD, Robot, CIVIL3D, Revit, etc
Good written and verbal communication skills
The ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines
A collaborative approach and willingness to learn
An interest in infrastructure, construction or the built environment
