How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Forefront Ltd is a specialist in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning environment, focusing on air handling units (AHUs). Our services include on-site AHU refurbishment, bespoke flat-pack replacements and energy-reduction solutions.

Established in 2013 by three partners, Forefront has built an excellent reputation for delivering knowledgeable, flexible and practical support. Unlike many larger competitors, we specialise in site-based projects, combining technical expertise with a strong commitment to putting clients first. Our success is underpinned by long-standing customer relationships and a trusted supply chain.

As our Technical Sales Director prepares for retirement, we are seeking a sales-motivated, technically minded individual to develop into a self-sufficient Technical Sales professional. This is an excellent long-term opportunity, supported by structured training, guidance and practical experience across the business.

The successful candidate should have demonstrable mechanical or electrical engineering experience, practical problem-solving ability, good numeracy and confident communication skills. Sales experience is preferred. Applicants must also have their own vehicle and a clean driving licence.

We are looking for someone professional, honest, reliable and consistent who is keen to learn, comfortable working independently and collaboratively, and interested in building a lasting career in technical sales. Applications are welcomed from candidates of all backgrounds.

Training will include workshop experience, assisting with site installations, attending audits with experienced colleagues and learning how AHUs are constructed, assessed and refurbished. The successful candidate will receive one-to-one technical, estimating and quotation training while developing sales skills through marketing campaigns, warm calling and quotation follow-ups.

Responsibility will increase gradually, from completing straightforward site audits to managing complex projects, preparing quotations, delivering technical solutions and generating new business.

The starting salary is £35,000–£45,000, depending on experience, with six-monthly performance reviews. The package also offers potential commission and the opportunity to acquire shares in the business after two years
