How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job title: Site & Vetting Administrator

    Location: Orwell, Ipswich & Leiston (All onsite between the 2 locations)

    Please note that there is only transportation via bus to Leiston if you are to drive you will need to use the park and ride

    Contract length: End of February 2027 (High potential to go Permanent)

    Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 9.00am - 17.00pm (Flexibility on the hours)

    Balfour Beatty, an International Infrastructure group is currently recruiting for 3 x Site & Vetting Administrators to join their teams in Orwell & Leiston working between the 2 locations. The positions are fully onsite Monday- Friday and the contract will run until the end of February 2027 with high potential to go Permanent.

If you have excellent administration experience, are an expert at using Excel, and have worked within Vetting employees/ candidates previously then this is an ideal opportunity.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Undertake a full range of administrative duties to ensure an efficient vetting service is delivered to the project team including but not limited to:

    *

    Maintain accurate and secure paper based/electronic filing systems, on electronic databases.

    *

    Be fully conversant in MS Office to produce a range of spreadsheets, documents and presentations, as required. Including formatting of documents to client standards.

    *

    Liaising with employees and employers of agency workers, communicating the vetting process, gathering relevant documentation and supporting them through the security check process. Verifying and reviewing ID documents to be submitted to the relevant vetting partners.

    *

    Perform ad hoc confidential project work, as required

    *

    Maintain full confidentiality of sensitive business issues

    *

    Support the work of other Administrators during periods of absence or unexpected high volumes of work activity

    *

    Coordinate with the project and client teams all security vetting

    *

    Book UK travel and accommodation

    *

    Arrange and attend team meetings/conferences as required, to take minutes, and ensure appropriate facilities are organised. Distribute to the team.

    *

    Manage incoming quality documents from supply chain and sub-contractors and upload to electronic databases.

    *

    Maintain and update document registers for drawings/ quality records/ supply chain records, (paper and electronic)

    *

    Assist team engineers with maintaining life time quality records, ensuring the filling system is in order and up to date.

    Key Skills / Experience/ Qualifications

    *

    Substantial secretarial and/or administrative experience within a busy team environment

    *

    Highly organised and able to work on own initiative

    *

    Strong communication and influencing skills, with team and general management skills

    *

    Strong customer focus

    *

    Excellent typing skills and IT Skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

    *

    Discreet and confidential and able to handle issues with great sensitivity

    *

    Excellent team working skills and ability to engage and build effective relationships at all levels

    *

    Demonstrable ability to prioritise and manage conflicting priorities during busy periods

    *

    Able to demonstrate a logical, proactive approach

    *

    Possesses a high degree of attention to detail

    *

    Proven ability to work well under pressure and to tight timescales

    *

    Experience in prioritising own/others’ work and of allocating and checking work
