How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Interaction Recruitment

    Recruitment Consultant – Construction

    Location: Kettering
    Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive base salary + uncapped commission

Build Your Desk. Build Your Network. Build Your Career.

At Interaction Recruitment, we don’t just fill vacancies. We build long-term partnerships with the people and businesses that keep the UK construction industry moving.

Our Construction division works across the sector, connecting skilled professionals with contractors, developers and construction businesses across a range of disciplines and projects.

Due to continued growth, we’re looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Construction Recruitment Consultant to join our Kettering team.

This is an opportunity for someone who understands the construction market, thrives on building relationships and wants to take ownership of a successful recruitment desk.

    The Role

As a Construction Recruitment Consultant, you’ll manage and develop your own client and candidate portfolio, specialising in the recruitment of construction professionals across temporary, contract and permanent positions.

You’ll be responsible for developing new business, strengthening existing client relationships and building a reliable network of high-quality construction candidates.

From speaking with Site Managers and Project Managers to sourcing skilled trades and construction professionals, you’ll become a trusted point of contact for clients who need the right people, at the right time.

You’ll have the freedom to develop your market, backed by the infrastructure, reputation and support of an established recruitment business.

    What You’ll Be Doing

Develop and maintain strong relationships with construction companies, contractors and clients.
Identify new business opportunities and actively grow your client portfolio.
Source, interview and qualify construction professionals across your specialist market.
Manage the recruitment process from initial vacancy through to successful placement.
Build and maintain a strong network of reliable, skilled construction candidates.
Respond quickly to urgent and high-volume construction requirements.
Understand client projects, workforce requirements, skills shortages and market conditions.
Negotiate rates and terms with both clients and candidates.
Maintain regular contact with placed candidates and clients to ensure strong ongoing relationships.
Ensure all candidates meet the relevant compliance and right-to-work requirements.
Work towards and exceed weekly and monthly activity and billing targets.
Develop your knowledge of the construction market and become recognised as a specialist within your sector.

    What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who knows that successful recruitment is built on relationships, reputation and results.

    Ideally, you’ll have:

Proven recruitment experience, preferably within construction, civil engineering, trades, property or a related sector.
A strong understanding of the construction recruitment market.
Experience within temporary, contract or permanent recruitment.
The confidence to speak with construction professionals and decision-makers at all levels.
Strong business development and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication, organisation and negotiation abilities.
A commercially focused and target-driven mindset.
The resilience and determination to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive approach to developing new clients and opportunities.
A full UK driving licence is preferred.
Whether you already have an established construction desk or you’re an experienced recruiter looking to specialise in construction, we want to hear from you.

    What Interaction Recruitment Offers

You’ll be joining a business where ambition is recognised and performance is rewarded.

    We offer:

    Competitive salary with uncapped commission.
    Comprehensive recruitment and sector-specific training.
    Ongoing professional development and support.
    Genuine opportunities for career progression.
An established brand with a strong UK presence.
Modern recruitment tools, systems and resources.
    Supportive and experienced colleagues.
    Pension and holiday benefits.
    Performance incentives and additional rewards.
The opportunity to build and develop your own construction market.

Make Your Mark in Construction Recruitment

Construction is built on people — and the best recruiters understand how to bring the right people together.

If you’re an ambitious Recruitment Consultant with a passion for construction, a strong commercial mindset and the drive to build a successful desk, this is an opportunity to take your career to the next level.
