JOB DESCRIPTION
An excellent opportunity has become available for 3 experienced HGV Technicians to join an expanding commercial vehicle workshop based in Cambridgeshire.
Due to the recent award of a significant new contract, the business is increasing its engineering team and is looking for experienced technicians who can ideally start immediately.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out servicing, routine maintenance and safety inspections on HGVs and commercial vehicles
* Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
* Completing mechanical and electrical repairs to a high standard
* Preparing vehicles for MOT testing in accordance with DVSA requirements
* Identifying worn or defective components and completing required repairs
* Accurately completing job cards, inspection sheets and workshop documentation
* Ensuring all work complies with Health & Safety requirements and company procedures
* Working with the wider workshop team to maintain vehicle availability
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this position, you should have:
* A minimum of two years' experience as an HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
* NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or strong time-served experience
* Good mechanical, electrical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills
* Experience carrying out HGV servicing, inspections and repairs
* A good understanding of DVSA maintenance standards
* A full UK driving licence
A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
PAY AND HOURS
Salary is up to £21.00 per hour depending on experience.
Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 18:30
Alternate Saturdays: 08:00 – 12:30
Immediate starts are available for suitable candidates.
