How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Water Infrastructure / Concrete Repair Operative

    Location: Swindon / Purton and projects across Wessex Water & Thames Water regions

    Pay: £14.00-£20.00 per hour, depending on experience

    Working Away: Accommodation provided + £30 per night allowance

    Employment: Long-term opportunity with ongoing training and development

    Search are recruiting experienced Water Infrastructure / Concrete Repair Operatives to join a specialist team delivering maintenance, repair and refurbishment works across clean water and wastewater sites.

    The role would suit experienced concrete repairers, structural maintenance operatives, waterproofing specialists or skilled construction operatives looking to move into the water infrastructure sector.

    Duties may include:

    Concrete repair and structural maintenance

    Resin injection works

    Joint banding installation

    Trowel-applied repair works

    Waterproofing systems

    Protective coatings - spray and hand applied

    Working within clean water and wastewater environments

    Jet washing and asset cleaning

    Cleaning and chlorinating clean-water assets

    General maintenance and operative duties

    Confined-space working where required

    You do not need experience in every area listed above. Additional training will be provided for suitable operatives with a strong construction or repair background and the right attitude.

    Requirements:

    Valid CSCS card

    Previous experience within construction, concrete repair, civils or water infrastructure

    Willingness to travel and work away from home

    Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team

    Right to Work in the UK

    Advantageous tickets/experience include:

    Confined Space

    EUSR / Water Hygiene

    Asbestos Awareness

    Working at Height

    Manual Handling

    Concrete repair / waterproofing / coatings experience

    Full UK Driving Licence

    Projects are based across the Wessex Water and Thames Water regions, with work also operating from the company's Swindon area base. Candidates ideally need to be based within approximately one hour of Purton.

    Where working away is required, accommodation is provided along with a £30 per night allowance. Company vehicles can also be provided where travelling in gangs is not possible.

    Pay: £14.00-£20.00 per hour depending on experience.
