CNC Miller Setter Operator

Trident Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller Setter Operator to join a high-precision engineering business in Portsmouth, producing complex components for the motorsport sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller looking for a choice of shift patterns and the chance to work within a fast-paced, high-quality machining environment.

Shift Options

Late Shift

* Monday to Thursday

* 2:00pm – 10:00pm

* Four-day working week

Weekend Shift

* Friday to Sunday

* 7:00am – 7:00pm

* Three-day working week

The Role

You will be responsible for:

* Setting and operating CNC milling machines

* Working with Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls

* Producing complex, high-precision components

* Machining to tight tolerances

* Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings

* Carrying out tool changes, offsets and basic machine adjustments

* Inspecting your own work using standard measuring equipment

* Maintaining consistently high standards of quality

Experience Required

We are looking for candidates with:

* Strong CNC milling experience

* CNC setting and operating experience

* Knowledge of Fanuc or Heidenhain controls

* Experience working to tight tolerances

* Ability to confidently read engineering drawings

* Precision engineering experience

Previous motorsport, Formula 1, aerospace or other high-precision machining experience would be particularly advantageous.

This is a permanent opportunity with a choice between a Monday–Thursday late shift or Friday–Sunday weekend shift.
