How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you a Quantity Surveyor or experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking for an opportunity to develop your career within a specialist construction environment

I'm working with an established and growing specialist facades and recladding contractor who are looking to strengthen their commercial team with an additional Quantity Surveyor. The business has a strong pipeline of work across London and the southern Home Counties, covering recladding, facade refurbishment and associated construction works across residential and commercial projects. This is a hands-on commercial role offering broad exposure across the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction estimating and procurement through to valuations, final accounts and commercial reporting.

    The Role

Working closely with the project and commercial teams, you'll take responsibility for the commercial management of allocated projects and develop strong relationships with clients, main contractors, suppliers and subcontractors.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing estimates, budgets, forecasts and cash-flow projections, monitoring project performance and identifying commercial risks.

Managing valuations, applications for payment, variations and final accounts, including regular site visits to assess progress and ensure work is accurately valued.

Managing subcontractors and suppliers, including procurement, subcontract orders, payment applications, variations and performance.

Reviewing and negotiating contracts and commercial terms with clients and main contractors, protecting the company's commercial position.

Preparing and managing CVRs, cost-value reconciliations, revised profit forecasts and commercial reports for senior management.

Managing commercial correspondence, delays, claims, extensions of time and loss & expense where required.

Working alongside the project and design teams on programmes, labour and material requirements, cost control and value engineering.

Building strong relationships with clients, main contractors and project stakeholders, acting as a key commercial point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.

    About You

We're interested in speaking with candidates from a range of construction backgrounds. You could be an established Quantity Surveyor, or an Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to take on more responsibility.

Ideally, you'll have experience within one or more of the following:

    Facades

    Cladding

    Recladding / remediation

    Rainscreen

    External envelope

    SFS

    Roofing

    Refurbishment

    Specialist subcontracting

    Main contracting

    Other specialist construction environments

Direct facade or recladding experience is advantageous but not essential. The key is strong commercial awareness, good construction knowledge and the desire to develop.

    You'll need to be:

    Commercially minded and financially astute

Highly organised with strong attention to detail

Confident communicating with clients and subcontractors

Comfortable negotiating and resolving commercial issues

Able to analyse financial and project information

Confident working with construction documentation and contracts

Proactive in identifying commercial risks and opportunities

Keen to learn and develop within a specialist environment

    The Company

You'll be joining a well-established specialist contractor with a growing presence across facades, recladding and external refurbishment. The business currently has a significant pipeline across London and the southern Home Counties, with projects covering occupied residential schemes, recladding, facade works and internal fire-stopping, alongside growing opportunities within the commercial sector.

They place a strong emphasis on work ethic, attitude, commercial awareness and development, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within specialist construction.

    Interested

If you're an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Junior QS or Quantity Surveyor with construction commercial experience and are looking for your next opportunity within facades, cladding, recladding or specialist construction, I'd be keen to hear from you.
