How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MANUFACTURING ENGINEER VACANCY - DORSET

    Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Lead Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Senior Mechanical Engineer, or Production Engineer seeking a permanent job on day shifts?!

    We are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer for a well-established and leading manufacturing business based in Dorset, this is working a fixed day shift pattern (39 hours per week), and the role comes with an annual salary between £50,000 - £65,000 per annum (DOE).

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    Previous experience from within the Precision Engineering, Precision Manufacturing or Aerospace sector.
    Strong knowledge of manufacturing process development and continuous improvement.
    A formal qualification such as an HNC, HND, or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering (or equivalent), or someone who has completed an Engineering Apprenticeship.

    What You Will Do:

    Provide technical leadership across the complete manufacturing route through finishing and CNC machining to product release.
    Support production with timely, practical solutions to complex manufacturing and technical issues, ensuring robust processes and standards are maintained.
    Lead continuous improvement work, driving scrap reduction, throughput gains, and root cause analysis through structured problem-solving and corrective actions.
    Collaborate on engineering changes, concessions, and deviation reviews, ensuring quality expectations and manufacturing feasibility are met.
    Lead and deliver engineering projects from concept through implementation, managing time-scales, budgets, and cross-functional activity.
    Act as a senior engineering authority during customer visits, audits, and technical reviews, supporting supplier discussions on tooling and manufacturing improvements.
    What You Will Bring:

    Previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Lead Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Senior Mechanical Engineer, or Production Engineer - ESSENTIAL
    A formal qualification such as an HNC, HND, or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering (or equivalent), or someone who has completed an Engineering Apprenticeship.
    A strong understanding of manufacturing process development and continuous improvement, with experience using structured problem-solving methods such as Root Cause Analysis and 8D.
    Proven knowledge of engineering drawings and an ability to translate technical requirements into real-world production outcomes.
