How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established accountancy practice based in Keighley, who are looking to appoint an experienced Audit & Accounts professional to join their friendly and supportive team. The role combines both audit and accounts responsibilities and is suited to someone who can bring a strong level of practical experience to the team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 5+ years’ practical audit experience within accountancy practice who is looking for their next career move. Alongside working across a varied portfolio of audit and accounts assignments, the successful candidate will receive fully funded professional study and generous study leave.

    The Role
Working across a varied portfolio of clients and industry sectors, you will take a more experienced role across audit and accounts assignments.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Taking an active role in audit assignments from planning through to completion, with greater responsibility for progressing work through each stage
Carrying out audit fieldwork independently and as part of a wider audit team, using your experience to manage your own areas of work effectively
Working closely with senior colleagues and other members of the team to ensure assignments progress smoothly and deadlines are met
Identifying audit risks and control weaknesses, raising key points and contributing to practical recommendations for clients
Preparing statutory accounts alongside audit assignments, using your experience to deal with more involved areas of the accounts
Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies across a varied client portfolio
Preparing corporation tax returns and supporting schedules for senior review
Taking responsibility for the accuracy and timely completion of your work, ensuring it meets professional standards and is ready for reviewThe role requires someone who can work confidently across both audit and accounts assignments, bringing a greater level of practical experience and independence than would be expected at Junior level.

    About You
Previous audit experience is essential. Our client is looking for an experienced individual with 5+ years’ practical audit experience within an accountancy practice, ideally operating at experienced Semi Senior or Senior level.

Accounts preparation experience would also be highly advantageous, as many of the audits undertaken by the practice involve preparing the accounts at the same time.

    Ideally, you will:

Have 5+ years’ audit experience within an accountancy practice
Have a good understanding of audit and accounting principles
Have accounts preparation experience, ideally including limited companies
Be studying towards, or looking to progress towards, ACA or ACCA
Be organised, accurate and able to manage deadlines effectively
Be confident communicating with clients and colleagues
Be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
    Have good Excel skills
Hold a full UK driving licenceOur client is committed to supporting the successful candidate's professional development and will fully fund their professional course/qualification.

They also offer excellent study support. For each subject/exam, candidates receive approximately 10 days where they can study on a Friday instead of working, giving you valuable dedicated study time alongside your professional training.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Audit & Accounts professional, Semi Senior or Senior who wants to broaden their accounts experience while continuing to progress professionally within an established accountancy practice.

If you have 5+ years’ solid audit experience and are looking for a role offering varied client work, funded professional study and genuine career development, we’d love to hear from you
