Embedded Software Engineer – Yocto/Linux – Bristol Area – £55,000

I’m recruiting for an Embedded Software Engineer to join a growing technology and R&D organisation developing advanced communications, RF and sensor-based systems.

The role will focus on developing embedded Linux platforms using Yocto, alongside C/C++ software development, hardware integration and system testing.

Responsibilities

* Developing custom embedded Linux images using Yocto

* Creating and maintaining Yocto recipes, layers and BSPs

* Developing embedded software in C/C++

* Supporting Linux kernel, bootloader and device-driver integration

* Developing software for ARM and SoC platforms

* Hardware bring-up, integration and debugging

* Supporting prototype development and technical trials

* Producing requirements and design documentation

Essential Experience

* Commercial embedded software development

* Yocto Project, BitBake or OpenEmbedded

* Embedded Linux

* C or C++

* Microprocessors or SoC platforms

* Hardware integration and debugging

Experience with Linux kernels, device drivers, U-Boot, Python, DSP, SDR, RF communications or FPGA/VHDL would be advantageous.

This role would suit an Embedded Software Engineer, Yocto Engineer or Embedded Linux Engineer interested in technically challenging R&D projects.

Candidates must have the permanent right to work in the UK without sponsorship and be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance
