How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lift Service Engineer

    Lift Servicing, Lift Repairs, Lift Engineer, Lift Industry

    St Helens, Merseyside

    Basic Salary: £50,000 - £55,000.
    Benefits: Company vehicle, standby pay, 25 days' annual holiday plus bank holidays, full Bupa private healthcare for the employee and their immediate family, and ongoing technical training.
    Call-out rota: 1 week in 4.
    Commutable from: St Helens, Liverpool, Stockport, Bolton, Manchester, Preston, Blackpool, Warrington, Oldham, Rochdale, Blackburn, Altrincham, Macclesfield and surrounding areas.

    Marmon Lift Recruitment is seeking an experienced Lift Service Engineer to join an established lift and escalator company covering the North West.
    The successful candidate will service and maintain a manageable route of approximately 35-40 lifts, allowing time to work safely and thoroughly without the pressure of larger, rushed service routes.
    Alongside planned servicing, the Lift Service Engineer will complete minor repairs and attend call-outs as part of a 1-in-4 on-call rota. Travel throughout the North West will be required, with a company vehicle provided.

    The Lift Service Engineer Role

    Service and maintain a route of approximately 35-40 passenger and goods lifts.
    Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with company procedures and manufacturers' recommendations.
    Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and complete minor repairs.
    Attend breakdowns and call-outs throughout the North West.
    Participate in a 1-in-4 on-call rota, with an additional on-call allowance.
    Test lift equipment and ensure units remain safe, reliable and compliant.
    Identify components requiring repair or replacement and report recommendations accurately.
    Maintain clear service records, job sheets and customer documentation.
    Liaise professionally with customers, site contacts and the wider engineering team.
    Ensure all work complies with relevant lift regulations and health and safety requirements
    Travel across the North West as required.

    Ideal Lift Service Engineer Candidate

    Strong experience servicing and maintaining passenger and goods lifts.
    NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
    Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
    Experience completing minor lift repairs.
    Good knowledge of lift regulations and health and safety requirements.
    Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to manage an independent service route.
    Comfortable participating in a 1-in-4 call-out rota.
    Willing to travel throughout the North West.
    Full UK driving licence.
