How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Intervention Mentor - Alternative Provision

    Location: Bolton
    Pay: £110 - £115 per day
    Contract: Full-Time, Temporary contract
    Start Date: ASAP

    We are currently working with a welcoming Alternative Provision in Bolton who are looking for a dedicated Intervention Mentor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can build strong relationships with young people and help them re-engage with education.

    The Role:

    Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring and intervention support
    Supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural and emotional needs
    Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
    Delivering targeted interventions to improve engagement, confidence and behaviour
    Supporting pupils who may have experienced difficulties within mainstream education
    Helping pupils develop social, emotional and life skills
    Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide consistent support
    Managing challenging behaviour using positive and restorative approaches

    The Ideal Candidate:

    Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly within education, care, youth work or support settings
    Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour
    Confident managing difficult situations calmly and professionally
    Patient, resilient and approachable
    Able to build positive relationships with hard-to-reach young people
    A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
    Previous experience within an Alternative Provision, PRU, SEN school or mainstream setting would be beneficialThis role would suit a Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Learning Mentor, Support Worker or aspiring teacher with a passion for making a difference.
