How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Manager to join an established business delivering structural steel projects across the UK.

This is a hands-on management role requiring someone who has previously taken full responsibility for running structural steel projects on site.

    The Role

    * Manage structural steel projects from mobilisation through to completion.

    * Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site.

    * Coordinate site activities, labour, subcontractors and deliveries.

    * Manage programme, progress and site productivity.

    * Ensure all works are delivered safely and to the required quality standards.

    * Coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers and other site teams.

    * Monitor project progress and resolve issues on site.

    * Ensure RAMS, permits and health & safety requirements are followed.

    * Manage site documentation, reports and progress updates.

    * Work on projects across the UK, with nationwide travel required.

    * Predominantly site-based role.

    About You

    * Proven experience as a Structural Steel Manager.

    * Must have experience running complete structural steel sites/projects independently.

    * Strong structural steel background is essential.

    * Must have progressed beyond trainee or assistant-level positions.

    * Previous experience as a Site Manager/Project Manager specifically within structural steel will be considered.

    * Strong understanding of structural steel installation and site operations.

    * Confident managing subcontractors, labour and site activities.

    * Strong communication and organisational skills.

    * Comfortable working nationwide and staying away as required.
