How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Bank Support Worker / Key Worker
    £13.50 per hour | £35 per sleep-in
North London & South East London
    Zero-Hours / Bank
I am recruiting on behalf of my client, Willoughby Place Limited, an Ofsted-regulated supported accommodation provider for young people, for experienced Bank Support Workers and Key Workers to join their services across North London and South East London.
Successful candidates will be placed within my client's supported accommodation services, supporting young people to develop the practical skills, confidence, resilience and independence required as they transition towards adulthood.
This is a bank / zero-hours position, with shifts offered according to service requirements. Shifts may include days, evenings, waking nights and sleep-ins. The role pays £13.50 per hour, with sleep-ins paid at £35 per shift.
    The role will include:
    * Providing safe, consistent and person-centred support to young people.
    * Delivering structured key-work sessions in line with individual support plans.
    * Supporting young people with education, employment, training, appointments and meaningful activities.
    * Helping young people develop independent living skills, routines, self-care and positive decision-making.
    * Supporting young people to understand and manage risks, including exploitation, missing episodes, substance misuse and offending behaviour.
    * Identifying, recording and escalating safeguarding concerns appropriately.
    * Completing daily logs, key-work records, risk assessments, incident reports, support plans and other required records.
    * Maintaining clear professional boundaries and acting as a positive role model.
    * Working collaboratively with social workers, placing authorities and other professionals.
    * Contributing to health and safety checks and maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
    Essential requirements
    Applicants should have:
    * A minimum Level 3 qualification in working with young people, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
    * A Level 2 Safeguarding qualification and a sound understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
    * At least two years' experience supporting teenagers or young people within an Ofsted-regulated residential or supported accommodation setting.
    * The ability to maintain professional boundaries and produce accurate, high-quality records.
    * Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with external professionals and agencies.
    * The legal right to work in the UK.
    Safer Recruitment
This role involves regulated activity with young people. Any engagement with my client will be subject to satisfactory safer recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check with barred list information where eligible, references, verification of qualifications and employment history.
Having a criminal record will not automatically prevent an applicant from being considered. Any disclosure will be assessed individually, taking into account the nature of the role and its relevance to safeguarding responsibilities.
Please note: My client is unable to provide visa sponsorship, so applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK
