How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Servicing and repairing automatic sliding and swing doors, speed lanes and pedestrian entrance control equipment.

    *

Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and control faults involving operators, drive systems, sensors and control boards.

    *

Installing replacement components, setting operating parameters and commissioning equipment.

    *

Checking activation and presence sensors, protective devices and emergency opening functions.

    *

Investigating access control interface faults, including entry permissions and release signals.

    *

Completing safety inspections and risk assessments, identifying defects and recommending remedial work.

    *

Recording work accurately using a company tablet and explaining findings clearly to customers.

    What you’ll bring

    *

Previous experience servicing, repairing or installing automatic pedestrian doors.

    *

Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, including reading wiring diagrams.

    *

Recognised BS EN 16005 training/accreditation through ADSA, ADIA or an equivalent provider.

    *

An understanding of pedestrian door safety and risk assessment.

    *

A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.

    *

A practical, reliable approach and confidence working independently on customer sites.

    Useful additional experience and qualifications

    *

Hands-on experience with speed lanes, speed gates or turnstiles.

    *

BS EN 17352 training or working knowledge relating to powered pedestrian entrance control equipment.

    *

Relevant NVQ Level 2, electrical or electromechanical qualification.

    *

Appropriate CSCS/ECS card, IPAF or PASMA certification.

    *

Manufacturer training on automatic door or entrance control systems.

    What’s on offer

    *

£40,000–£50,000 basic salary, depending on experience.

    *

    Overtime and additional payments.

    *

    Company vehicle, tools and tablet.

    *

Professional development and the opportunity to expand your product knowledge.

    *

Scope to take on greater technical responsibility as the team grows.

    *

The opportunity to make a meaningful contribution within a small, developing business.
