How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Parking Correspondence Officer to join their busy Parking Services team on an initial 3-6 month contract.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with strong written communication skills and previous experience dealing with customer enquiries, elected member correspondence, and statutory information requests within a public sector environment.

    Working in a hybrid arrangement, you will be responsible for managing a variety of parking-related correspondence, ensuring that responses are accurate, professional, and delivered within prescribed timescales.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Draft and respond to parking-related correspondence on behalf of the local authority.

    * Handle enquiries received from elected Members, residents, businesses, and other stakeholders.

    * Manage and respond to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and other information requests.

    * Monitor and process enquiries received through shared service inboxes.

    * Investigate cases and gather information from internal departments to prepare comprehensive responses.

    * Ensure correspondence complies with relevant legislation, council policies, and service standards.

    * Maintain accurate records and update internal systems accordingly.

    * Support the wider Parking Services team with administrative and casework activities as required.

    About You

    We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

    * Previous experience working within a Local Authority, Parking Services, Civil Enforcement, Customer Services, or a similar public sector environment.

    * Experience handling complex correspondence and casework.

    * Knowledge of parking regulations, parking enforcement processes, or transport-related services would be highly desirable.

    * Experience responding to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and Member enquiries.

    * Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.

    * Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines.

    * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.

    What's on Offer

    * Hybrid working arrangement with just 2 days per week in the office.

    * Immediate start available.

    * Initial 3-6 month contract with potential for extension.

    * Opportunity to work within a well established London Local Authority.

    * Competitive hourly rate.

    Please note: Due to the urgent nature of this requirement, applications from candidates available to start at short notice or immediately are particularly welcome
