How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Unipet International have an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager to join the team based in Sittingbourne, Kent on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.

    The Production Manager role:

    As our Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading all manufacturing operations within Unipet International, ensuring that production plans are executed safely, efficiently and in full compliance with company standards.

    Working closely with the Supply Chain & Planning Manager, the Production Manager will be responsible for delivering the agreed production schedule through effective management of people, plant, processes and systems whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality, health and safety and operational performance.

    The role requires a highly visible leader who takes ownership of production performance, drives continuous improvement and develops a highly skilled and engaged manufacturing team.

    Key responsibilities of our Production Manager:

    Execute the agreed weekly production plan

    Ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently

    Maximise utilisation of labour, machinery and manufacturing resources

    Manage production priorities within the constraints of the agreed plan

    Ensure OTIF delivery targets are achieved

    Recruit, train, mentor and develop production personnel

    Maintain and develop departmental skills matrices

    Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and legal requirements

    Conduct performance reviews and capability assessments

    Build succession plans for key operational roles

    Conduct regular safety briefings and toolbox talks

    Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions

    Maintain a zero-compromise approach to safety standards

    Work closely with the Quality Manager to ensure products meet specification

     Promote operator ownership of machinery and equipment

    Ensure production teams are fully trained in operational systems

    Act as the operational subject matter expert for manufacturing processes

    Lead daily production meetings and team briefings

    Communicate key business information effectively

    Skills and experience we are looking for in our Production Manager:

    Proven manufacturing leadership experience

    Strong people management skills

    Excellent organisational ability

    Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements

    Ability to analyse and improve operational performance

    Strong communication and leadership skills

    Experience using ERP/MRP systems

    Attention to detail

    Hands-on approach

    Positive and proactive attitude
