How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Production Engineer

    Bedfordshire
    Salary: £50-£55,000

    We are recruiting for an established and innovative engineering and manufacturing organisation supplying highly technical products to international markets.

    They are looking for a Production Engineer to join their manufacturing team and play a key role in transitioning products from development into efficient, repeatable and high-quality production.

    This is a hands-on role working closely with Engineering, Production, suppliers and subcontractors, with responsibility for NPI, manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and improve New Product Introduction (NPI) processes from design through to manufacture and test.
    Ensure effective transition of new products from Engineering into production.
    Develop and improve manufacturing processes, test methods, fixtures, jigs and work instructions.
    Work with Engineering on Design for Manufacture and Design for Test.
    Maintain Bills of Materials, part numbers and manufacturing data within ERP systems.
    Monitor and improve production quality, efficiency, reliability and cost.
    Investigate production issues and implement effective corrective actions.
    Analyse workflows, equipment, layouts and processes to identify improvement opportunities.
    Work with suppliers and subcontract manufacturers to maintain quality and efficiency.
    Support the Production Manager with first-line supervision and development of the manufacturing team.
    Develop training programmes and work instructions for production staff.
    Monitor production and quality KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement.
    Promote safe working practices and a culture of continuous improvement.About You

    Proven experience in Production or Manufacturing Engineering.
    Experience within electronics engineering/manufacturing.
    Strong knowledge of NPI processes and techniques.
    Experience creating manufacturing processes, test methods and work instructions.
    Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
    Experience using ERP systems and manufacturing data.
    Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    The ability to influence and collaborate effectively across Engineering, Production and external suppliers.
    Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    Experience providing guidance, supervision or training to manufacturing personnel.This is a great opportunity for a Production Engineer to take ownership of NPI, manufacturing improvement and production engineering within a technically advanced and internationally focused organisation.
