How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are recruiting on behalf of an established organisation operating within the rail sector, who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware, delivery-focused Project Manager with previous experience working within the rail industry to take ownership of projects from initial planning through to successful completion.

    Project Manager - The Role - Rail, Manufacturing, Engineering, Railway

    You will be responsible for managing multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

    Managing rail projects from contract award through to completion
    Developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets and delivery plans
    Coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers and key stakeholders
    Managing project risks, issues, variations and commercial performance
    Monitoring progress against agreed milestones and taking corrective action where required
    Ensuring projects are delivered in line with relevant rail industry, safety and quality requirements
    Providing clear project updates to senior management and customers

    Previous Project Management experience within the rail industry
    A strong track record of delivering projects to programme and budget
    Excellent stakeholder and customer management skills
    Strong commercial awareness
    Experience managing suppliers, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams
    The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment
    A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach
    Experience within rail engineering, infrastructure, rolling stock, signalling, electrification or associated rail projects would all be of interest.
