How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Engineer

LabTech London Limited is looking for a skilled, reliable and fully qualified Electrical Engineer to join our established Electrical Maintenance Team.

You will take ownership of the electrical systems, equipment and infrastructure across the LabTech estate, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), periodic inspection and testing (EICR), reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs and electrical testing, keeping everything safe, compliant and fully operational.

This is a varied, hands-on role in a fast-moving environment. You will have the autonomy to plan your own workload and influence how our electrical assets are maintained, working closely with our Facilities team, contractors and specialist suppliers. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician who takes pride in their workmanship and holds the highest standards of health, safety and compliance.

    Key responsibilities

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance in line with maintenance schedules, manufacturer recommendations and site requirements.

    * Complete electrical installation condition reports (EICRs), inspection and testing, and the associated certification.

    * Inspect electrical installations, wiring, distribution systems and equipment, identifying defects, deterioration, potential hazards and non-compliance.

    * Diagnose and rectify electrical faults, including loss of power, circuit failures, nuisance tripping and equipment malfunctions.

    * Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency power failures, safely isolating faults and restoring services under approved safe systems of work.

    * Carry out electrical testing and functional checks using appropriate test and diagnostic equipment.

    * Repair, replace and install cables, wiring, sockets, switches, lighting fittings, protective devices and associated equipment.

    * Undertake all installation, maintenance and repair works in accordance with current UK legislation, regulations and industry standards.

    * Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, test results, PPM activity, reactive repairs and component replacements.

    * Prepare technical reports and recommend remedial works, repairs, upgrades or asset replacement, escalating significant defects and safety concerns to management.

    What you will need

    * Fully qualified Electrician with recognised UK electrical qualifications (for example City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, or equivalent).

    * Current applicable qualification for the IET Wiring Regulations – BS 7671 (18th Edition).

    * Strong and up-to-date knowledge of UK electrical legislation, regulations and industry standards.

    * Proven experience of electrical PPM and reactive maintenance, with strong fault finding, diagnosis and repair skills.

    * Competence in electrical inspection and testing, including EICRs, and confident use of test and diagnostic equipment.

    * Sound understanding of safe isolation procedures and electrical health and safety requirements.

    * Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.

    * Well organised, able to work independently and balance planned and reactive works.

    * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a collaborative approach within an established maintenance team.

    Desirable

    * Minimum five years' experience working as a qualified Electrician.

    * Qualification in inspection and testing (for example City & Guilds 2391, or equivalent).

    * Experience within a commercial, industrial or facilities management maintenance environment.

    * Experience working within a facilities or multi-disciplinary maintenance team.

If you take pride in your workmanship and want to look after a varied, high-profile estate, we would like to hear from you
