This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and technically competent engineer with strong setting out and quality assurance experience to join an established delivery team on a high-profile project. Whilst previous airfield experience would be advantageous, candidates from highways, rail, infrastructure and general civil engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for setting out, quality control and engineering support across a range of light civils and concrete works packages. You will work closely with site management, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required specification.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out setting out and surveying activities across site works using GPS and Total Station equipment.
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
Prepare, implement and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Undertake quality assurance checks and maintain accurate site records.
Support the delivery of concrete and light civil engineering works packages.
Liaise effectively with subcontractors, site management and client representatives.
Produce and maintain as-built records and associated site documentation.
Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
Support the successful achievement of project milestones and programme objectives.
Requirements
Essential
Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering, infrastructure or construction projects.
Proven setting out experience using Total Stations and GPS equipment.
Strong understanding and practical experience of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Experience delivering concrete and light civils works.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Valid CSCS Card.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
Previous experience working on airfield or airport projects.
Experience operating within live operational environments.
Knowledge of QA procedures, quality documentation and as-built record production.
