How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Fantastic company benefits include:
    * Competitive Salary:£41,500 – £43,500 per year + bonus scheme
    * Holiday: 20 days holiday plus bank holidays plus 1 additional day per each year served up to 25 days

    About the role:
As the face of the maintenance team, you will visit existing annexe clients to assess and resolve snagging issues and faults across their properties. This is a hands-on, multi-trade role where you will use your 1st and 2nd fix carpentry skills, alongside smaller remedial plumbing and electrical tasks. You will travel to domestic customer homes, fault-find and complete remedial work across annexe interiors, including kitchens, bathrooms, doors, panels and other fixtures.
The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, with occasional overnight stays outside East Anglia (approximately once a month). This is steady, long-term employment directly with the company – not agency or short-term contract work.
    Main Duties and Responsibilities:
    * Visit and maintain existing domestic annexes, using your multi-trade skills, particularly 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
    * Assess faults, identify solutions and complete remedial and snagging works to a high standard
    * Carry out tasks including door adjustments, kitchen fitting, panel replacement and other general maintenance repairs
    * Undertake simple remedial plumbing and electrical tasks where required
    * Ensure all work is completed neatly, tidily and to a high-quality finish, with elementary decorating skills an advantage
    * Represent Garden Annexes by GX Modular professionally and courteously when working at customer properties
    About you:
To be a successful Maintenance Technician you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in multi-trade maintenance, with strong 1st and 2nd fix carpentry skills and ideally some experience with basic plumbing and electrical repairs. Experience working within domestic residential environments is essential, together with a high-quality and well-paced work ethic.
You will be a practical and confident problem solver with excellent attention to detail, strong finishing skills and a professional, customer-focused approach. The ability to self-manage and work independently, while also contributing positively as part of a team, is important. A full UK driving licence is essential for this nationwide role.

Garden Annexes by GX Modular is a growing specialist business delivering high-quality domestic annexe solutions for customers across the UK. With an established client base of more than 200 customers, the company provides a professional maintenance service alongside its annexe projects, with a strong focus on quality, customer service and long-term relationships.
