How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support to pupils, helping them to engage with their education, develop confidence and build positive relationships.

    * Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and act as a consistent and supportive role model.

    * Assist teachers in creating a calm, safe and engaging learning environment.

    * Support pupils who may display challenging behaviour, using positive and appropriate strategies.

    * Help pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

    * Work as part of a supportive and experienced team.

    * Passionate about helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning.

    * Confident in building strong and positive relationships.

    * Able to remain calm and consistent when faced with challenging situations.

    * A good communicator who works well as part of a team.

    * Caring, empathetic and able to see the individual behind the behaviour.

    * Keen to learn and develop their experience within a specialist educational setting.

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, SEND or additional needs would be highly beneficial. However, we are also keen to hear from candidates with transferable experience from youth work, care, support work, sports coaching or similar backgrounds.
