How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

This is an office-based sales role at the centre of the business. You will handle incoming enquiries, work out what the customer actually needs, quote it accurately and convert it into an order. Alongside that you will make outbound calls to existing customers, lapsed accounts and new prospects to grow the order book.

You do not need to have sold pressure gauges, regulators or electrical components before. Full product training is given and there are experienced technical colleagues alongside you. What matters is that you are confident on the telephone, accurate with detail and willing to learn a technical product properly. If you have sold anything with a part number, a specification and a trade customer on the other end of the phone, the skills carry across.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    * Handle inbound telephone and email enquiries, establishing the application and identifying the correct product, size, pressure range, connection and material.

    * Prepare and issue accurate quotations, then follow them through to conversion rather than waiting for the customer to come back.

    * Make proactive outbound calls to existing customers, lapsed accounts and new prospects to generate orders and build a pipeline.

    * Process orders accurately, confirming specification, quantity, price, lead time and delivery before the order goes through.

    * Build working product knowledge across gauges, regulators, air preparation equipment, thermometers, diaphragms and the electrical and electronic lines, so that customers get sound first-line advice.

    * Refer complex, bespoke or custom-dial enquiries to technical colleagues, and stay with the enquiry until it is resolved.

    * Support distributor and OEM accounts with pricing, availability and lead time information.

    * Liaise with purchasing, production and despatch to keep customers informed, particularly where lead times move.

    * Handle account queries, returns, repairs and calibration requests from first call through to resolution.

    * Maintain accurate customer, contact, quotation and opportunity records on the company system.

    * Follow up leads generated by the website, marketing campaigns and exhibitions.

    * Record reasons for lost business and feed market and competitor intelligence back to the team.

    * Work to agreed call activity, quotation and order intake targets.

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    Essential

    * Experience in telesales, internal sales, sales support, counter sales or another telephone-based sales role. The sector matters far less than the ability.

    * Confident on the telephone and comfortable picking it up to make outbound calls as well as answering them.

    * Accurate and methodical, with genuine attention to detail on specification, pricing and paperwork. A wrong digit on a part number costs a delivery.

    * Willing and able to learn a technical product range, and comfortable asking a question rather than guessing
