We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Building Maintenance Engineer to join a highly respected client based in North London.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a brand-new contract, working across a portfolio of prestigious commercial buildings. The role will allow you to develop your technical expertise, build strong client relationships and work alongside an experienced engineering team.
As a Building Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical and mechanical systems. You will also be required to diagnose faults, complete compliance checks, maintain accurate site records and liaise with contractors to ensure the smooth running of the buildings.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical building services
Identify, diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults
Complete regular inspections, testing and statutory compliance checks
Carry out emergency lighting testing and any associated remedial works
Maintain and service motors, pumps, AHUs, FCUs and three-phase electrical systems
Ensure site logbooks, maintenance records and relevant documentation are accurately maintained
Respond efficiently to reactive maintenance requests and minimise equipment downtime
Maintain a professional approach when dealing with clients, occupants and contractors
Work collaboratively with the wider on-site engineering team and specialist subcontractors
Support the efficient and safe operation of the building and its M&E systems Requirements
Recognised qualification in Electrical Installations, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 3 years' experience within commercial building maintenance
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities
Good understanding of commercial building services and M&E systems
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Previous experience working within a high-end commercial environment would be advantageous
