How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    AM2 Assessor (Full Assessing Training)

    Wigan

    £31,000 - £42,000 + Teachers' Pension + Generous Annual Leave + Healthcare Plan + Training & Development + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Electrician with strong technical knowledge looking to move into an assessment-focused role?

Do you want to use your industry experience to assess the next generation of electricians and ensure apprentices are fully prepared to meet the standards expected within the electrical industry?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established Further Education provider within its Electrical Installation provision. You'll work within a supportive technical team, assessing learners as they demonstrate the practical skills, knowledge and safe working practices required to successfully complete their AM2 assessment.

As an AM2 Assessor, you'll support the delivery and assessment of electrical apprentices undertaking their end-of-training practical competence assessments. You'll observe candidates completing practical tasks, assess performance against required industry standards, provide clear feedback and ensure all assessment activity is conducted consistently, safely and accurately.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Electrician with strong, up-to-date Electrical Installation experience and a thorough understanding of current regulations and safe working practices. Previous assessment experience would be highly beneficial, although experienced industry professionals with the right technical knowledge and motivation to move into assessment will also be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical professional to step away from full-time site work, maintain close links with the industry and play an important role in ensuring the next generation of electricians enter the trade with the required competence and standards.

    The role:

*Assess Electrical apprentices undertaking AM2 practical assessments.
*Observe and assess practical Electrical Installation tasks against required standards.
*Assess candidates' technical knowledge, practical competence and safe working practices.
*Ensure assessments are conducted fairly, consistently and in accordance with required procedures.
*Maintain accurate assessment documentation and candidate records.
*Provide clear and constructive feedback to candidates.
*Prepare assessment areas, equipment and resources as required.
*Ensure high standards of health and safety throughout all practical assessments.
*Work closely with Electrical curriculum, apprenticeship and assessment teams.
*Maintain current knowledge of Electrical regulations, industry standards and working practices.
*Support the continued development and quality of Electrical apprenticeship provision.

    The person:

*Experienced Electrician or Electrical Installation professional.
*Recognised vocational qualification in Electrical Installation or a closely related discipline.
    *Strong practical Electrical Installation experience.
*Up-to-date knowledge of electrical regulations and industry standards.
*Strong understanding of safe isolation and safe working practices.
*AM2 knowledge or previous experience within apprenticeship assessment highly desirable.
*Assessor qualification desirable, or willingness to work towards where appropriate.
*Confident assessing practical competence and providing constructive feedback.
*Methodical, organised and able to maintain accurate assessment records.
    *Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Comfortable working with apprentices and candidates at different stages of development.
*Committed to safeguarding, inclusion and maintaining high industry standards.
*Passionate about developing competent, safe and work-ready electricians.
