Procurement Coordinator

Checkmate Fire Solutions is a leading UK provider of passive fire protection and compliance services, supporting clients across the built environment with safety, integrity and technical expertise. We are looking for an organised, commercially minded and proactive Procurement Coordinator to join our team in Elland.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with procurement, purchasing or supply chain experience who wants to play an important role in delivering commercial value across the business.

The Role

Procurement at Checkmate is about much more than placing purchase orders. You’ll work closely with suppliers and colleagues across operations, site delivery, contract support, commercial and finance to secure the best possible value for the business.

What You'll Be Doing

Sourcing competitive quotations from approved suppliers.

*

Negotiating pricing, discounts, project rates and bulk purchasing opportunities.

*

Identifying and supporting cost-saving initiatives.

*

Balancing cost, quality, availability and lead times.

*

Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

*

Monitoring supplier performance and managing issues.

*

Raising and managing purchase orders.

*

Monitoring outstanding orders and expediting deliveries.

*

Resolving supplier, delivery and invoice queries.

*

Maintaining supplier, subcontractor and procurement records.

*

Maintaining Master Price Lists and procurement information.

*

Recording and reporting procurement savings.

*

Supporting procurement KPIs and reporting.

*

Identifying opportunities for process improvement.

*

Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and approved supplier arrangements.

What We're Looking For

*

Previous experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain.

*

Experience negotiating with suppliers.

*

Good commercial awareness.

*

Experience using ERP or purchasing systems; Dynamics 365 would be desirable.

*

Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

*

Confidence building effective supplier relationships.

*

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
